Alpha Version

Hello Everyone,
Well I was super excited to see this transition so that some plugins would be working now! However that has not been a problem the issue is that the CPU usage is insane. The stream is jerking and everything! The other issue is OBS at the top shows version 0.11 not version 19? Let me know anything you need so can help with this.
Well a log file is always a good idea. How do your settings differ from previous obs ftl installations ? What has been your experience previously ?
Previous OBS FTL was running 9%-15% CPU at all times. This alpha is running 35%-45% all the time.
My stream PC AMD 8350 16 gig RAM can barely run the new version so also agree with DerekR. Worked fine when it had not been updated since March :). I should not need to build a Ryzen stream PC to cope with encoding/broadcast software. Let me know if this is being looked into . All well and good testing it on the latest gaming/streaming rigs but a lot use dedicated stream pcs and lesser spec pcs.
Again, without any Kind of logfile or settings it is very hard to troubleshoot this... My streaming with quicksync had no noticeable CPU usage differences
EDIT: Just checked with x264 and had similar performance so I really don't know what should be the problem. If you could provide detailed steps to reproduce the issue it would be greatly appreciated
No problem my issue seemed capture card / video capture source related I've removed my magewell hdmi having issues. I also removed some cluttered scenes . Unplugged and plugged back in hdmi cables to ensuring they were secure.I have log files if required but fingers crossed magewell runs smooth now. Thanks
Log files coming in just a moment. Is there any personal information that needs to be removed from them?
I would love to test the alpha out on my Mac. Is there any chance that someone could post a link to a pre-built mac installer? Thanks! :)
I'm not even sure there's cross-platform code in the latest branch here. I generally compile my own binaries, but when I do that on the repo now, I get the same version as before, not v 19 with FTL support.
If you want to try a Mac version of OBS version 19 with FTL support, go here:
https://github.com/dorianmuthig/obs-studio-ftl/releases
You WILL need to install homebrew if you haven't already in order to install or update dependencies.
Any updates on the heavy CPU usage? Running 55% now and old one runs at 22%.
Are you still seeing this with the official build of OBS?
Seems to be better but still seems very high. Maybe because OBS FTL version was lacking alot of features.
