Using an iPad 2, iOS 8.2. App freezes after the loading page. Photos below

...entirely possible that I'm simply failing to use it properly :)

That's the intended functionality, unless you hold the speech emitter (speaker) for at least 5 seconds. It's intentionally misleading to a degree, so children won't easily find the methods to modify the field. Hold the speech icon for at least five seconds, and when you release, you should see options presented to you.

Now that you mention it, that's an issue I'm going to log for myself for later. There needs to be an orientation screen on first boot up, so that the user understands what's going on.

Okay works much better - it's a little sluggish, but that's got much more to do with the age of my iPad. One question - I can work out how to put icons into the folder - but not how to take them out if I've accidently put them in. What am I missing?

Can you double tap them? It should highlight gray first and them put them back in. The double tap is more for the kids, since we've observed impulsivity and fine-motor issues. Can you report? Thanks!
