integrate with emms-git

Hi,
This seems useful. Would you be interested in integrating it in upstream EMMS?
Note: you need to assign the copyright either to EMMS directly or Emacs (I don't remember).

Hello,
Wow! Thank you for your suggestion. I'm interested in that.
I would be glad if this package could be integrated in upstream EMMS.
I'll search the way to assign the copyright.
I'm not good at English, so it might take a lot of time for me to do it.
I suppose it's too early to send a pull request to emms-git.
I think some feedback from users or download statistic will be needed
because only few days have passed since this package was registered with MELPA.
Thank you for your help and patience.
Hi,
Sorry for the late reply. I have been busy.
For the benefit of yrk, here is the link to the discussion:
yrk: Momomo's EMMS module adds "scrolling" to the "EMMS Playing Now" entry
in the modeline, which is pretty useful for small screens such as my X200.
BTW Momomo: I would also love to see direct MPV support in EMMS.

The minimum requirement is that you sort out the paperwork. Depending on
your location you may have to use snail mail to FSF.

If you wish, I can send you the form which you can use to initiate the
process.

If you wish you can maintain your file in the emms-repo. That way it
benefits all users of the development version of EMMS. Further, we can
make it available via (emms-devel). Perhaps it may also make sense to
integrate your changes further with the existing modeline functionality.
Perhaps, I can review your file if you assign the copyright, though a
quick skim suggest it's in good condition.

As you prefer.

I agree with this assessment.

I have no problem with including this in Emms, pending the copyright
paperwork.
It would need to be disabled by default, but easily enabled with
something like (emms-scrolling t). Finally, please ask for a user manual
entry to go along with it.
Thanks!

Just to be clear, the message directly above is yrk's reply, which is also here:

If emms-player-simple-mpv could be helpful for EMMS, I would prepare after this issue.
Some changes are needed, so it will take some times.

Thank you for your help. I found request-assign.future.
I'd like to use a pseudonym.
But I'm not sure how to write about that, so I'll ask assign_at_gnu.org.

I'd like to contribute to EMMS as much as I can.

This package is provided as a minor mode, so it works like that.
Finally, please ask for a user manual entry to go along with it.
Would I need another copyright paperwork for the user manual?
Sorry if my interpretation is mistaken.
Thank you.

Mpv is getting pretty popular and at least I use it as a backend.

Looks about right.

In git you can use whatever you want. I think re the form only the
lawyers will see it. Maybe YRK will see it. And maybe you will be on
some list that only GNU maintainers have access to. But yeah, ask the
lawyers for the details.
Anyway, for commits and public messages I only use my first name, mostly
not to have it show up when searing my name. In files, I sign with my
full name.

You will not need any additional copyright assignment. YRK just meant
that you

I think so, too. It seems the demand will increase.

Thank you for explaining it. The information is very helpful for me.
I sent e-mail to assign_at_gnu.org. Now I'm waiting for a reply of advice.

My interpretation was mistaken. Thank you!
Sorry for the long delay.
I emailed again last week and got the reply.
Today, I sent a singed form via air mail. It will arrive in a week or so.
Thank you.
