I'm planning to test some kernel parameter tuning and it's impact to mongodb. For example changing I/O scheduler, clocksource and another kernel parameters and see how it will impact mongoDB performance. I plan to test using Ubuntu 16.04 in EC2.
The goal is to have set of kernel parameter set as part of AMI so our MongoDB AMI already tuned. Is mongo-perf the right tool to do this kind of test? Which result should I compare? Thank you.

Hi sumodirjo
mongo-perf is not a good tool for that. In fact, our configs are such that most tests will not do any IO.
For what you want to do, I recommend YCSB: https://github.com/mongodb-labs/YCSB/blob/master/ycsb-mongodb/bin/ycsb
