uPlot line chart lib

Closed this issue · 3 comments

Hey @davehunt, @armenzg, @airimovici,

i'm a long-time firefox power user & bug reporter. i tracked AWFY on a daily basis during the tracemonkey rollout :)

AWFY renders a lot of charts, so i thought i'd contribute something back to improve the crappy perf related to slow charts.

take a look at https://github.com/leeoniya/uPlot and see if this is something that might interest you. would be happy to answer any questions and help with integration.

cheers!

Hi @leeoniya
Thanks for bringing this up to our attention and thanks for your long-term support.

Thanks for your offer but I believe that switching the charting library at this mature state of the project could cause maintenance burden. At this moment we're only taking small tweaks and security updates.

If the project was in development state it would be a great time to make the change since I could be helping if there was any fallout. At this point in time, I would deter changing the charting library.

If @davehunt and @airimovici were aware of a strong desire by users to swap the charting library I would let them speak up but I could not support fixing any fall outs due to my other priorities.

Thanks for the offer and best wishes with the library. It seems rather neat!

sounds good, thanks for considering!

You're welcome! Best wishes!

@davehunt @airimovici I'm closing but feel free to speak up if you wish to.
