VLC 3.0 - doesn't like the UDP stream

Must investigate a workaround in VLC.
Just taking advantage of this opportunity to thank you. I needed a cheap solution to get video from my cable operator set top box to my tv set without the need to use long hdmi or coaxial cables (just using my Devolo powerline network) . The usb2hdcaps with your software did the trick using udp streaming ! It was really quick to set up... except that I tried for two hours with VLC 3.x without seeing this issue first (why can I capture the stream but it doesn't show in VLC - I was wondering). Do you have any good workaround for the issue (which appears to be related to a limit on MTU) ? I just installed an old 2.x version of VLC on my Windows 10 computer, but when I buy a smart tv, I guess it won't be so easy to use an obsolete VLC on that kind of hardware. Same on my raspberry pi under gentoo. Any idea? (And, again, a million thanks for your efforts)
might be worth looking into the lkv373a RE efforts. I think I remember they found that the stream send packets that threw off VLC as well so they found a way around it.
