Adding MIT licence

Hi Mirco,
Thanks for making this tool available. Can you please add some license perhaps MIT license that can allow me to use this repo for some non-academic projects?

One thing I'd request as someone who's contributed to this code is to either use a strong copy-left or the MPLv2 license. I'd explicitly like to avoid MIT license since the MIT license is a community hostile license. Specifically the MIT license does not handle the issues due to patents in an unambiguous way across jurisdictions and opens up nasty potentials for patent issues.
