Colour map is not scientific

The colour map used for the heat map is not a scientific colour map which is a major issue for two reasons:

  1. It misrepresents the data by creating artificial boundaries and non-existent features.
  2. It can't be used by people with colour vision deficiencies (CVDs).

The following paper from Nature describes in great detail the issues with non-scientific colour maps and why scientific colour maps should be used instead: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-020-19160-7

I would recommend replacing the colour map with any of Fabio Crameri's sequential colour maps (the main author of the Nature paper): https://www.fabiocrameri.ch/colourmaps/
