If there’s an iframe (a page inside a page, like what ads are held in), then those are technically windows as well.

That’s from an end-user perspective.

From a JavaScript perspective, window is the reference to the global scope, which has access to the DOM, and browser APIs, and details about the size/position/etc of the real browser window.
