When I sign on to an account in pidgin that might have a lot of contacts associated with it, the extension blocks the main gnome-shell process for several minutes making the entire system unusable and unresponsive for that whole time.
Latest extension version from https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/782/pidgin-im-integration/ with GNOME 3.22.2
