New maintainer needed

Hello,
I've changed my life in a way that I rarely sit at a computer anymore, and the x11docker project is a bit lost yet, but would need maintenance.

Is anyone out there interested to take over the x11docker project?
Please only those who are willing to spend enough time over years for maintenance, taking this seriously.

Thanks in advance
Martin Viereck

I just want to say thank you for your awesome work. I use x11docker everyday for everything as much as possible. I hope this project will survive and wish you all the best. Thank you very much that you maked this possible!

@sandrokeil Wouldn't you like to take over? You're one of the few I already thought of. Once you made a small but well done contribution that showed me that you understand the idea and structure of the code.

Basically there is not much to do than just bug fixing every now and then.
Some difficult features like Windows support might be dropped at all. (@eine?)
I would still be there to answer questions to the new maintainer.

Of interest to develop would be a better support of nerdctl as another alternative to docker and podman.

Thank you for considering me but my life has also changed a bit. I don't have much spare time anymore for doing open source.

Hello everyone, I'm not sure I can help but it's very sad for me personally to see this project going unmaintained since it was the first and only real project that gave me confidence that it was even possible to run apps/games in containers.

I'm the creator of Games on Whales, the goal there is mostly to stream virtual desktops and games running in Docker, we're more video games focused, but the underlying goal is very similar, and I wonder if we can help you guys.

Recently I've been working on Wolf which aims to be an easy to use virtual remote screen streaming solution; I would be very interested in adding more support for running Docker apps directly in the host DE instead of force them to be in separated virtual desktops if there's a need for it, it's not even a big code change from what we have at the moment.

I'd be more than happy to join forces and make a good tool that can be used to run (or stream) GUIs (or games) running in Docker, feel free to reach me on our Discord server or here on Github!
