Layer metadata info should not have to be duplicated

What existing feature could be improved?
The layer metadata we show in the category/browse mode of the product picker is also shown when viewing layer info via the sidebar. The underlying markdown used for these are separate files with the same information. In the case of the browse mode metadata the file is just a combination of all the individual layer metadata.
Describe the improvement you'd like
We should re-work this so that this is generated from the individual layer metadata. We should also derive the date availability from the GC info rather than hard-coding it into the metadata files.
