un-choked Nozzle with IDes

GRC-RHC-Sim opened this issue · 2 comments

The nozzle calcs the Ath with Ides based on MN = 1 conditions ( which is the case typically with a design). However, currently if the nozzle can't be choked (ie. the PR is too small to choke it) iDes will still calculate Ath based on if the nozzle is choked. This creates some confusion because when you use the IDes generated constants you get a different flow through the nozzle.

Update the Nozzle to at least present a message about this occurring. Also, will probably adjust the module to generate an Ath that is consistent with the un-choked flow (though a warning will still occur because there is probably something else wrong with the design).

Credit Jeff Csank for finding this.

Additionally updated 3/10/2016. The fix also required Ath to be calculated when IDes was turned on.
