Version confusion due to SAUTE

The community is confused about the versioning used for SKESA since SAUTE was released.

Because it's always SKESA 2.4.0 even when SAUTE was added, the packaging (eg. conda) is hard to get updated.

Could a new unfified single release version numbering system be made please?

I'm not sure I understand what exactly is needed for conda. Could you elaborate, please.

Been a while, but coming back around to this.

I there a reason there hasn't been a release for SKESA 2.5.1? https://github.com/ncbi/SKESA/blob/master/skesa.cpp#L397

  1. SKESA's functionality has not changed since the initial version. Most updates are related to the changes in the NGS library which is used to access the SRA archive. The 2.5.1 change was more informative diagnostic of bad fasta files.
  2. SKESA 2.5.1 is actually included in the last release. The confusion stems from the fact that the release tag erroneously doesn't reflect this.
