indicate data availability when zooming out

Apparently GSKY shows the "zoom in to view" image everywhere irrespective to the data availability of the regions. This creates confusing user experience in the following way: user perceives the availability of data for a region of interest by following the "zoom in to view" visual clue. But after zooming into the region of interest, user eventually found no data available for this region. This problem gets pronounced if the data are sparse. For example, daily satellite images only cover a small fractional of the surface. If "zoom in to view" doesn't indicate which regions these images cover, the user will have a hard time to find them on the map.
To fix this problem, GSKY should only show the "zoom in to view" image to the regions with data available.
