background execution

Hi,
is background execution of a command supported? according to my experience launching an exe in background in Windows is not as simple as in Linux and PHP does not come with native functions to support background execution. Am i wrong?

Currently that was not planned, but it can be added to the feature stack. It would be a nice-to-have feature I guess.
Please, feel free to collaborate with any feature addition.
