A new login into your account was detected - really a login, or just a try?

I got this message multiple times a month: A new login into your account was detected. : See here
I wonder if that is really a succesfull login from another IP, or just a try to login.
I use very secure password, and only have three accounts. Some of the reported IP's are definitely not the try of one of the existing users.
How can I check if there was an unauthorized access or not?
And if no unauthorized access happend, then it might be a fail positive of suspicious-checking which need to fix?!!
