Possible different approach: frictionless data (tabular packages) conversion to SQLite

Opened this issue · 1 comments

As of September 2020, there seems to have interest in the biodiversity informatics about frictionless tabular packages.

IF the community gradually switches from DwC-A to data packages, we might be able to reach the objectives of DarwinSQL by actually implementing a fully automated Frictionless data -> SQLite conversion tool (if it doesn't already exists).

Advantages:

  • we don't invent yet another language
  • relatively easy implementation
  • would be useful for all communities/data packages (not only biodiversity informations/dwca-like)

Doesn't this already do the job?

(TODO: quick test to see how good it works. Supports relationships?)
