If this is ported from @fat, shouldn't you include his copyright line in your MIT license?

Yes, the project currently includes:
* the original MIT-LICENSE.txt
* a link to the original license in the License section of the README
* the original preamble in the src/ and dist/ files
To the best of my knowledge (but I'm not an expert), the original license file and the new license file should be separate, and the new license should not contain the original author's information since that might be construed as endorsement.
If there's anything else, please reopen this issue.
