Font scaling issues (again, sorry!)

Bug Report

GPT4All 3.3 has successfully fixed the blurry font on my MacBook Pro, and now when working on that one, I get a perfectly crisp font that looks good. Thank you very much for that!

However, I (and likely many others) often work with external displays that usually have different scaling factors and resolutions. For example, I usually use 2K monitors (1440p native resolution), and on these monitors the font then appears blurry again. This might also have to do with the subpixel-layout being different.

See the screenshot:

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Have a Mac laptop (I don't know if this occurs with other platforms, too) and an external display with a different resolution/size
  2. Open GPT4All on the Mac's internal display. Note that the font is crisp.
  3. Move that window to the external display. Note that the font now looks blurry.

Expected Behavior

Depending on the display on which the main window currently resides, the app adapts the font scaling in such a way that on either it looks crisp. (In my case, that the font looks similarly crisp on the internal and external display)

Your Environment

  • GPT4All version: 3.3.1
  • Operating System: macOS Sequoia 15.0
