Please note that all the codes here are meant to demonstrate part of my attempt at becoming better at both the statistical concepts that I was studying at the time and at coding. In that regard, some codes contain my experimentation/exploration of different ideas applied to a specific problem (e.g. hm2.ipynb or bayesian_logical_data_analysis_for_the_physical_sciences.ipynb files above).
-
cloudy_C22.ipynb: This file contains a small part of my attempt in running Cloudy photoionization model and reproducing some results from afew papers.
-
remarkable_weak_emission_line.ipynb: My attempt in reproducing fig. 1 of K. Hryniewicz et al. 2010. Overall, it was a good exercise and I managed to reproduce part of the figure 1. I need to keep working on this task further.
-
sdss_dr16_and_astropy_test_out.ipynb: this notebook covers my ongoing attempt at becoming more familiar with spectral properties of starts and their template spectrum according to the Astro330 course. Also, given my experience with AGNs and quasar catalogs (dr7), I started exploring the latest quasar catalog by Wu and Shen 2022. In addition, I am tryig to practice some simple fittings (i.e. just the gaussian components and not including the underlying continuum emission and iron templates) using Bayesian methods and the EMCEE library developed by Jonathan Goodman and Jonathan Weare. Also, as part of my ongoing attempt, I will be spennding more time in practicing further preprocessing and spectrum preparation steps (e.g. binning, telluric correction, dereddening, etc.).
-
bayesian_logical_data_analysis_for_the_physical_sciences.ipynb: is the notebook for Bayesian Logical Data Analysis for the Physical Sciences.
-
zingale: contains a series of my codes on Prof. Zingle's course homeworks. Please note that file names are abbreviated. File name "hm2e1pc" means homework2, exercise 1, part c.
-
