Clean up scatterplots

Closed this issue · 3 comments

  • Change "County Trends" hed to something like "Demographic Trends"
  • More spacing between scatterplots
  • Swap scatterplot and results table sections, and get ride of "County Results Table" header
  • "Covid" should be "COVID-19"
  • Add COVID and demographic/population sources to source line
  • Make tooltip lowercase and Gotham (more like map tooltips):

  • Capitalize "Democratic" on y-axis:

  • Make trend label more obvious, maybe something like this:

  • Add some sort of language to scatterplot section like "trends subject to change as results come in"
  • Add footnote to states that don't meet threshold for showing scatterplots
  • Switch from orange to grayscale on the "trend" pill (black background with white font for strongest trend, light gray with dark font for weakest)

Demographic trends doesn't quite capture covid or past vote margin to me

Demographic trends doesn't quite capture covid or past vote margin to me

COVID per capita = % of people who have COVID
Past vote margin = % of people who voted Dem. or GOP in 2016

So I think it works? But I'm not wedded to it.

All of these are done, closing for now.
