PortName not specified

Thanks for this potentially wonderful script. Unfortunately, it always fails with

ERROR: At least one device with given VID/PID has not "PortName" specified
and is thus likely not a serial device. Operation cancelled.

The reason, I believe, is that I have a number of devices with the same VID and PID, only some of which are connected at any given point and thus there are registry entries that do not have a PortName for the disconnected devices. Would you know how to modify the script so it performs the change taking the existence of a PortName in at least one of the entries as an indication, that these VID&PID-combos are indeed serial devices?
