SHHS MOP 6-626-mop-rules-for-assigning-sleep-stages, Stage 2 sleep use a more concise definition for delta wave used for deep sleep and again there is mention of the “3 minute rule” that the scorers did not use, it would have been very time consuming to track the time between K complex or sleep spindles, and some subjects have very few spindle or K throughout the entire study. “Delta waves: high amplitude ( > 75 μV), slow (≤ 4 Hz; duration 0.5 s. and longer)” more concise definition would be “Delta waves: high amplitude ( > 75 μV), slow (0.5-2 Hz; duration 0.5-2 sec)”. This same definition was given in issues for CHAT documentation as well.
