2 Suggestions: a) same file on different folders b) folder rename from A to B reuploads pics

Hello,

It's me again, I have 2 questions:

  • if I have the exact same pic in 2 separate folders, you wrote in the FAQ that it's loaded twice. Since the program will recognize the checksum, isn't it possible to upload it only once and then duplicate it directly in Flickr? That would be faster than uploading it twice..
  • if I change the name of a folder A to B. What happens to the pictures from A that were already uploaded to flickr: are they moved to a new set (with name 'B') or are they deleted and uploaded again when the folder B is parsed?

Then again, I don't know what the Flickr API allows you to do or not.

Hope this helps.

Ze

Hi there,

  • will think a bit more on your first question.
  • on the second topic, "they are deleted (folder A) and uploaded again when the folder B is parsed"

Thanks, oPromessa

Hello,

No hurries, both are linked to the same idea of not uploading twice some pictures if it can be avoided.
But is this really worth the trouble?

I know I tend to shift my pictures a lot from folder to folder ("to be sorted" -> "this date" -> "this event") but maybe for most users it's not really usefull.

Ze

On the first topic, as I'm assigning the tag album to the photos, it would complicate things a bit as one same pic would have two albums tags. So, for now, I'll keep it "as is", ok!
