the best way would be to use the current master branch, and report back and issues you might find.

So far, testing with the master branch seems to be working. If a pre-release (1.6.0{a|b|rc}N) or development (1.6.0.devN) wheel can get uploaded to PyPI, I'll add it as a dependency of what I'm working on and publish a pre-release version that a few other people can test on their systems.
