curl probe on Alpine Linux arm64 failing to work with parsing?

Overview:
I'm trying to do curl probe monitoring in Alpine Linux environment, but rrd is not drawing forever.
When I debug it, I see the following Curl: nextcloud.com: got , which means that the time data is not parsed, and the rrd part is also :U:20:U:U:U:U:U:U:U:U:U:U:U:U:U:U:U:U:U:U:U:U:U, which means that something is wrong.

There was a regression in curl 7.74.0 where it started reporting time values in microseconds instead of in seconds, curl/curl/#6322. A bunch of my probes broke when I upgraded curl to that version. The latest curl release, 7.75.0, fixes the bug.

I think I'll wait for the package update on the alpine linux side.

If it works as expected in curl 7.75, please test and ack here, if that's not too much work, and then I will delete the pull request.

Also affects Debian testing (Bullseye), which has cURL 7.74.0. I had wondered why every graph that used cURL suddenly stopped receiving data.

Also, the "your curl doesn't support the XXX feature" is because curl --help no longer lists every option. You need to use curl --help all instead. (Should I report this separately?)

It's curl 7.80. Has anything changed?

This issue is not fixed in 7.80 nor 7.81. I suspect reporting in microseconds is the new normal. As this breaks any Smokeping configuration on any newly install Raspberry Pi, could we maybe consider a 'fix' inside Smokeping to mitigate the issue?

This may not be because of microseconds. It looks like 7.74 introduced a new help function, which lists only major options.

So I made a new one, and changed to Smokeping/probes/curl.pm line 223.

This works on both the old and the new, and stops the probe from (incorrectly) failing due to a lack of support of timeouts (and interface) options.
