Wake from sleep with external display on

The application is fantastic!
One quick question. Are you able to allow the user to put the machine to
sleep, and wake it up with the external display as primary display?
For instance, after watching a movie or downloading with the lid closed and
external display on, I actually put my machine to sleep using the Apple
Infrared Remote.
However, when waking the machine up using the remote, the external display did
not turn on.
I had to open the lid and then close it again to get the external display
working again.
Any thoughts or allowing for this option would be amazing!
Thanks :)

Meant to classify this as a request, and not an issue. Sorry.

I'll check the behavior with an external monitor and try to find possible
solution.
Thank you for your interest:)
