App quits when closing tab

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Set prefer tabs to Always under System Preferences - General
  2. Open 2 or more files with application (Preview.app,  Pages.app, Numbers.app or TextEdit.app)
  3. Close one of the tabs

Current results:
App quits.

Expected result:
Tab closes and application remains open
