This is one of a series of proposals for taking NYPL's extensions to Authentication For OPDS and adding them to the core document.

Some [OPDS servers] are open to the general public; others restrict access to students or people with other special qualifications.
The audiences field maps to a list of audiences who may be able to get access to the collection.
