#35 introduced a number of variables related to reserve capacity in electricity generation, namely "Automatic Frequency Restoration" and "Frequency Containment". I recall other terms used here, like primary and secondary reserve.
What is the latest consensus for naming conventions of the different types of reserve capacity? I suggest that we use this issue to agree on a common definition (references/links welcome), then include it in the variable/technology/README.md
, and then start adding variables.

The standard terms used by ENTSO-e are:
-Frequency Containment Reserve,
- Frequency Restoration Reserve, (note, this is manual contrary to the following)
- automatic Frequency Restoration Reserve,
- Replacement Reserve
In our models we sometimes use primary, secondary, tertiary or other terms, which cover some (potentially different among countries) national definitions of reserves. They usually can be computed from the entso-e's (eg in france primary=FCR, secondary=aFRR, more complex to find a correspondence with tertiary, ....).

@danielhuppmann I think this issue can be closed as we have defined reserves by using the entso-e reference words
