Setting --warp-barrier prevents client from working

Without the flag syncing will start, tried freshly on a WSL instance too to see if it's just the server and nothing. Works without the tag but syncing without it takes way too long

same here on the xDai chain. the earliest snapshot that i could start syncing from using --warp-barrier is way long ago.

i think this is not a client code issue, but an issue of operations: i'm not well informed in this regard, but i think there are simply not many nodes that are creating frequent snapshots to sync from using warp sync.
