wyze cam pan v2 firmware just won't connect to my wireless

Hello Team,

I've followed the instructions (using v2) and updated the wireless settings and renamed the file. I've tried 3 different SD cards. The light turns blue then goes back to yellow and a click is heard. Looks like the firmware was loaded (based on what other people see and hear). But my wzye cam pan just won't show up in my DHCP server with an address. I've rebooted the camera (left the SD card in and pulled the plug and plugged it back in again).

Can anyone confirm that the wzye cam pan works with openip firmware? If so...what is the trick to get this working?

Thank you.

I would like to know if this issue has been resolved so I could also try and install this firmware on my wzye cam pan ..
Thank you,
-SDK

This fixed mine.

Change wpa_supplicant.conf.dist -> wpa_supplicant.conf

Afaik you just insert your ssid and password between the "quotes" in the config file. Then delete the .Dist file extension.

I noticed that changing the name of wpa_supplicant.conf.dist to remove .dist in finder was not sufficient. Performing a "save as" and naming the file without .dist resolved the issue

you have to rename any/all files in the config folder without the.dist (remove .dist)
use notepad++ to edit the wifi config file wpa whatever
i also deleted the wpa_sup...dist file so I only have the one that is needed
so far I can only get it to work with the give wpa-psk security

FWIW I just got one and I think the wireless was just bad. I could not connect it even with the wyze app so the replacement should be here today from amazon

I still can not get my camera to connect to the wifi network. Does it matter if the wifi is using WPA2-PSK with AES encryption? In the wpa_supplicant config file I just see TKIP mentioned??
