Corruption may occur when using NFS to back OpenShift Container Platform scaled/HA registry with production workloads

Is this a BUG REPORT or a FEATURE REQUEST ? (choose one): BUG REPORT

In the NFS Server section of the reference architecture for Deploying and Managing OpenShift Container Platform 3.6 on VMware vSphere it recommends

NFS is used to store container images in the registry. The NFS server will be created automatically in the playbooks unless it isn’t needed.

However, in the OpenShift docs for Optimizing Storage in the Scaled Registry section it warns

Corruption may occur when using NFS to back OpenShift Container Platform scaled/HA registry with production workloads.

The reference architecture is recommending something that the docs say can cause corruption. Why is that?
