Nomination 🗳️
Nominee name:Armin Bauer
Co-Founder and Managing Director Technology, IDnow
Email: armin.bauer@idnow.io
Personal bio:
Since IDnow’s formation in 2014, Armin has built the technology and regulatory operations of the company as it has become a vital identification service provider in some of the most highly regulated industries around the world. These regulated industries include but not limited to, banking, finance, consumer protection, and mobility.
When he had the idea for IDnow, the VideoIdent procedure was not yet approved by the German Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin). Armin worked in the forefront of making this possible and has pushed the company to new heights.
Armin is an experienced thought leader in the fields of technology and digital identities as well as European regulations. He is part of several working groups like ETSI, FIDO Alliance, W3C, and Hyperledger. Armin also consults with global and European digital identity organizations and national regulators within Europe, the UK, and the Middle East in technology and innovation matters. Armin’s efforts have had great impacts on an industry-wide scale and has allowed many regulators to consider new methods for identification-something which has proven valuable in this difficult time.
Armin studied electrical engineering at TU Munich and management at the "Center for Digital Technology and Management" at the Munich University. Before the IDnow journey, Armin also co-founded Amiando (Xing Events).
Short personal pitch:
Armin would be a good choice for the Governing Board, as a candidate for the General Sponsor Representative seat, given his long experience as an entrepreneur, managing director and contacts with the regulatory bodies in the EU. Armin can play a key role with bridging the gap between the EUDI Wallet development and the OpenWallet Foundation.
Closed, since Armin will instead be nominated for the Governing Board, as a candidate for the General Sponsor Representative seat.
