Expression search not available on new tabs

When I open a folder in a new tab expression search is not active in the quick filter bar. I can not get expression search to be available on a new tab any other way, either.
TB 115.4.2 (64-bit)
Expression search 4.0.15
Still does not work for me. When I open a folder in a new tab, I get two text boxes. The first text box behaves as the default quick filter functionality of TB. In the second text box, nothing happens when I type. Please hava a look at the attached screenshot.
However, it works ok for the tabs that are already open when I launch TB.
TB version: 115.5.1 (64-bit)

I confirm exactly the same behavior as described by mnskillo: I get two text boxes when I open a new tab and only the first one works (as default quick search filter of TB). I also confirm that if the tabs are already open when I lunch TB, the ES-NG works in all tabs.
