Doesn't work on Batocera v38

I installed it via curl in xterm as usual, on winscp (after it didn't work) and tried to run a game it didn't run and put me back to the menu, when I ran f1 > applications > yuzu-config it said "Invalid desktop entry file: 'usr/share/applications/yuzu.desktop'" even though the keys are where they should be and it said installed successfully

from what was gathered the installer doesn't work or works partially for some users due to
- issues with ipv6 in batocera (can't connect to gh), and/or
- github<>isp issues (ip/range being blocked)
this can't be solved by the installer script
some users reported success using vpn@router, or connecting wifi to mobile hotspot
