Installing “data-atom@0.29.1” failed - Installing GIT

Can anyone elaborate a bit on what is meant with the following line in the error message:

"You need to install Git and add it to your path environment variable in order to install this package."

I'm not sure exactly what I'm supposed to do. I've installed GIT, but what path exactly are you supposed to add to the Environment Variables?
