Unable to narrow down embed types when using plus button

If the plus button is used to insert an embed (rather than hitting forward slash), the user is unable to narrow down the list by typing.

To Reproduce

Whilst editing a page, click the plus button
Start typing "table" to narrow down for table
Observe that instead the embed menu is closed and the user is now typing text into the page body

Expected behavior
The user should be able to narrow down embed types by typing (like they can when using forward slash)
