Templates are colored

The background layer with the template is shown with colors that should not be there. The screenshot feature has these as well.

Sadly, there is nothing I can do about it. I am not aware of the colors of the template, only their rendering on the tablet.
And as the tablet has only 16 colors, the colors are extrapolated by the main process and there is not way to guess the original color.

The only thing I can do is adding an option to deactivate the colors.

Ah now I understand the behavior. For me an option to disable the color feature altogether would be great.

I add the hacktoberfest label in case someone wants to tweak the stream.js to put colors as an option

The switch has been implemented, I let you close the issue if ok

Hi @owulveryck,

thanks for adding the switch. I don't see any colors anymore. However, the whole screen now is duplicated. Not sure if I updated the device in the meantime but I don't recall doing so. Automatic updates are switched off, software version is 3.5.2.1807.

I am keeping my reMarkable up-to-date and therefore I don’t have time or material to back port the features.
This will only work on FW 3.6+

I see. I disabled automatic updates after toying around with rmfakecloud which seems to break frequently and take some time to be updated to newer firmware. Since I don't use it much though, I'll update my device after uninstalling it and report back.

I updated and now the stream works fine. However, the color toggle doesn't seem to trigger. Clicking on it doesn't change the button in any way nor does it remove the colors in the stream.

Nevermind, the colors are gone after triggering an update from the device. Thanks!
