It'd be nice if it were possible to give a VM a stable identifier via an SMBIOS type 1 UUID. There are likely some other cases where having SMBIOS tables would be useful as well.

After a quick discussion with @rmustacc , we decided that we at least want types 0, 1, 4, 16, 17, 32.
