Can't reproduce here. No method is working (even the 1px Version) in no browser/preview.

OS X 10.8.4
Monitor: DELL SP2309W

Connected using HDMI -> HDMI.

You should add the connection method to the test log. In the video you are using a HDMI to DVI converter (as it looks like) maybe that is the problem.

It looks like it only happens on some monitors, and only on retina mac.

I'm using a mini-displayport DVI dongle to connect with a DVI-DVI cable

Ok. I am using a MacbookPro10,1. So it might be the monitor.

Can't reproduce either.

Retina, 13-inch, Late 2012
OS X 10.8.3 (12D78)

External display: Dell 2209WA connected via mini-displayport to DVI dongle, DVI-DVI cable.

Edit: MacBookPro10,2. May be fixed in this revision.

I've tried my MacbookPro10,1 on other monitors and the problem didn't occur.

That said, I've been able to reproduce with other MacbookPro10,1's on my monitor and those I've listed in the README.md

Confirmed here. Several models of LG / Samsung displays, and first-gen Retina Macbook Pros

Interesting. Care to share the display model names and/or snap a video?

I cannot reproduce on MacBook Pro Retina 15" (Early 2013 model) connected to a ASUS VS228 monitor over a thunderbolt-to-DVI connector. Chrome was maximized. Saw the image draw all the way to the right edge.

Retina, Mid 2012. LG Flatron W2240V.

Here's a video of me opening the Repo. Clicking the Demo.
Monitor fails, turns off. I CMD+W to close the window, and monitor powers back on.

Cannot reproduce Macbook Pro Retina, Mid 2012 running OS X 10.9 (13A476u) Asus VS239 connected via built-in HDMI.

Thank you, unr, mind if I post it on the main page?

Absolutely.

This happened to me yesterday as I was speaking to my coworkers about the current creepiness surrounding the NSA and PRISM. After seeing this repo I opened the stopwatching.us site again on my external monitor and the monitor went black almost immediately. (I seem to recall that yesterday, the stopwatching.us site displayed just fine for several seconds (minutes perhaps), then did some crazy artifact-ing for several more seconds (10-15 maybe), then finally went black)

Anyway, I'm on an "Early 2013" MacBook Pro Retina 15 inch and am using a Samsung SyncMaster P2770 as my external monitor connected to the MacBook's mini DVI port and using a mini DVI to DVI adapter.

It might be worth explicitly stating that the offending site/pattern needs to be displayed on the external monitor - the readme doesn't spell this out.

mini-displayport to displayport cable from monoprice

Can't reproduce.

MBPr 10,1 15" (scaled to 1920 x 1200)
Lenovo LT2452pwC, oriented above the MBPr's display
Mini Displayport -> DVI adapter from Apple

A friend and I tested this. For us it seemed it's more a Mountain Lion vs Lion issue and external connected display, and not necessarily just for retina displays. Also we tested it on two iMacs, both non-retina. One iMac running Mountain Lion and connected display DID reproduce the issue, another iMac running Lion and connected display DID NOT reproduce the issue.

Both using Mini Displayport -> DVI adapter from Apple.

Hope this additional info helps!

Thanks for the feedback. That is very interesting, and puzzling!
