No Menu Access

Opened this issue · 5 comments

GNOME puts menus for applications in the top bar, but Ozon shell removes this menu button. This means in programs like Rhythmbox (shown below) key functionality is blocked from being accessed. The little triangle is still there so my guess is that it was intended to fill this need, but for me at least it's unclickable.

I guess we'll need another extension for these menus.

From what I can tell the triangle is normally part of the clickable for the menu, so my bet is that something in the theme has disabled it when it shouldn't have.

Someone just posted this which @me4oslav shared - apparently they're running the shell theme but can see the menu section just fine.

Which is the intended behaviour?

  • menus not up there at all, new extension for putting them elsewhere
  • menus up there but only via triangle
  • menus up there as in default shell
  • menus not up there at all, new extension for putting them elsewhere

The dock is there so there's no need to have two places indicating that something's open. Better beef up that dock extension moving the little triangle to it.

That sounds like a good solution. Only down side I can think of is that
it makes things a bit less modular. Might there be a way to also move
the code which removes the top bar icon to the dock extension? No matter
if not though, it's a minor detail.
