How to make the default "index-content" show up?

Hi guys, I was trying to re-build the default "index-content" div from the demo side, but couldn't get it done.

according to the index.html, there is {{ if .Content }} about that part, so I try to create some md or content inside of the content folder, but I doesn't work for me.

How can I make this works?

create file _index.md under content dir then modify
