Repeated "process extract failed" errors

Hi- I am having similar trouble with the standalone and firefox versions getting extract text to work (single microsoft word file as a test). I get a tab with

When I check the Browser Console, I get endlessly repeating sets of:

Process extract failed.
Every 15 seconds, I get another set of these errors. Machine is Windows 8.1 64, Zotero 4.0.22, tried downloading latest version of Java (1.8.0_25) and it didn't help. Any ideas would be much appreciated- thanks in advance.
