Very slow on spinning disks

Syncing on HDDs is very slow (much slower than RocksDB). This might be a “won’t fix” but if so it should be documented.

What kind of HDD? Physical or VM? Is there any IOPS limit?

Xen VM (QubesOS). This is backed by an LVM thin pool.

Probably won't be ever fixed. So far there has been zero demand to optimize for HDDs.
