Possibly not directlya onenote issue but when I try and install the downloaded release
sudo apt install ./p3x-onenote_2024.4.157_arm64.deb
I get the following error:

I had an earlier 2021 version installed which worked fine but had never updated so I uninstalled it before attempting to install the new one. Ubuntu is 22.04 updated from 20.04 since the 2021 version was installed. AFAIK everything is standard and certainly apt update and apt upgrade have been run very recently.

Any clues as to how to fix this (or indeed how to revert back to the non-removed 2021 version which was working. Should have stuck to "if it ain't broke don't fix it" I guess, but I noticed it was a bit old...

or you can try appimage as well.

flathub is a few days from now a release. it is tested and works on flathub, but not released, waiting for it.

or you can try appimage as well.

Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, Laptop Intel® Pentium(R) CPU N4200 @ 1.10GHz × 4

Appimage gives the following error
/P3X-OneNote-2024.4.157-arm64.AppImage: cannot execute binary file: Exec format error
and yes it is flagged as executable.

The only other Appimage I am using is tagged as -x86_64 not -arm64 - is that the problem? Does the new (post 2021) versions of OneNote not run on N4200 CPU?

Is there somewhere I can download the old .deb version which was working (and do you know at what version it would have stopped working?)

it is in the releases all versions

by the way, this is x64, not arm what you are talking about:
Laptop Intel® Pentium(R) CPU N4200 @ 1.10GHz × 4

use the amd64 or x64 build, not the arm...

DOH!!! How stupid am I! Failed to spot the difference between amd and arm and started by only seeing the arm version and thinking that must be it. Entirely my mistake. Apologies for the confusion and thank you very much for your help - keep up the excellent work. I have dropped a small contribution in the donate jar (amazed how small the Hungarian Forint is - I wonder if you can actually buy anything for 1 forint these days)
