I got this when I installed=>
Fatal error: Access level to BP_TurtleShell::setup_globals() must be protected (as in class BP_Theme_Compat) or weaker in .../path to /buddypress/bp-templates/turtleshell/buddypress-functions.php on line 35

BuddyPress 1.7
I'm going to move it to a stable version of WordPress in case it's something in my environment but didn't want to let this one pass.
...updated. same issue on a clean install with BuddyPress 1.7
Yep... probably.. very broken. It was just hacked together to get something to work.
(it used to work!)
I haven't had a lot of time to dig much past this to make sure it's not 'user error' :). I'll have some time this evening to look at it. I have in mind a few things to try...
