Gmaps works with Jupyter notebook but with a nearly identical setup and with jupyter lab it fails to work. I have installed, done build and have all the basic extensions as I show in screenshots . I have seen one other thread on similar issue but it doesnt solve my problem, i have put all information about extensions and other conda env below.

Thanks for raising this.

It is certainly possible that gmaps would need to be migrated to work with JupyterLab 1.0.0 and the widget manager 1.0. I'll probably have time to look into this in the next week or so.

Tracked in PR #310 .

Thanks @pbugnion now when i Pip install gmaps do i need to install this specific last commit you made after #310 as I see the last release version is still 0.8.4

Now released as 0.9.0. This is available on pypi. It'll land on conda-forge sometime later today.

Just following the installation instructions for JupyterLab should be enough now.

I closed this, but feel free to re-open if the issue persists with gmaps >= 0.9.
