Nothing happens when I connect

a little more information would be helpful.

Have you programmed the ESP and now it shows nothing?
Or does it not respond at all after you have unpacked and connected it?

I unpacked it and connected it.
My computer's serial port is not responding.

Then it is possibly broken :-(

It is a normal ESP8266 and it must be recognized at the USB port.
On the other hand the usb cable may also be broken.

you can give 5v or 3v and gnd to the PINs, maybe that works
